5 years baby!

Wow does time seriously fly. We celebrated our 5 year anniversary on April 15th! I love the couple we have become. And I can't wait for the next 5, 10,50, eternity years after that. I love you babe with all my heart:)
We went to our always favorite Carrabbas....mmmmmmm.... then gave eachother our gifts...

I got Tom a new black wedding band that is much lighter and a lot less bulky than the Tungsten one he has now and look what he got me!! I was so surprised and so happy!(When he asked me what I wanted, I did hint that I would love a right hand ring:) but he picked it out all by himself and I love it!) It is a Smoky Quartz (brown gemstone) with little diamonds around it, with a red Garnet on each side...the most gorgeous ring ever! He did so good, I was so impressed!

Pic is hard to see

I also got Tom some new shoesies

On to other news....It was FINALLY warm enough for the first of hopefully many BBQ's! Tom and the boys cooked up some mean burgers and hotdogs. Good food, great company, good night!

Hayden found the game cabinet

Then we played some good old Scum:)

Brent, Jenni, and baby Jones

Jeff, Claudia, and baby Hill

Hooray for summer hopefully almost being here:)

Seriously!?

2 car wrecks for us within 4 months of eachother?

Yep

Tom wrecked his truck on I-15 back in december. Traffic suddenly came to a stop and he rear-ended a truck. So crappy but I'm so grateful he was ok. It took forever to wrap things up with that accident and in March we finally got a brand new Nissan Sentra which I normally drive but didn't drive yesterday because I was going to take the blue Suzuki to get a maintenence service ironically enough and then to work. I was just entering I-15 from Spanish Fork to head up to Provo and if any of you are familiar with the freeway on-ramp, it just merges right into the freeway. So on the ramp I am almost to freeway speed so I glance in my side mirror, then over my shoulder, to see if I could merge onto the freeway then when I look back forward this white suburban was at a complete stop right in front of me! It all happened so fast-I slammed on my brakes but there was nothing I could do. I smashed into the back of him at probably like 40-50 mph. Thank goodness for seat belts and airbags-they had deployed and my car filled with smoke. My headband had flown off my head up onto the dashboard and my necklace broke. I just sat there swearing in shock for probably 30 seconds, I forgot I was in the Suzuki and not the new car and I was freakin out! So funny what your first thoughts are after something like this, 1)my first thought was Sh#@, our brand new car! 2)My face was bright red and makeup was rubbed off from slamming into the airbag and my car was smokey so-my second thought was, Crap my makeup is ruined and I will smell like smoke for work tonight! haha crazy right! When I finally got out the guy in the suburban came over to see if I was ok and I saw there was a car at a stop in front of his and realized I was in the Suzuki and that it was destroyed. I asked him what happened and he said that car stopped right in front of him. He didn't hit him tho...I was the only lucky one. I called the cops, and then Tom, and then I got hysterical. Good thing he is so good at calming me down. The cop had me get in my car and he pushed me up to the next exit in springville so we would be off the freeway. I got done with all the paperwork and then they towed away my beloved car of 3.5 years:(
Sad day but luckily I'm ok. And luckily my boss was understanding that I couldn't make it in to work last night. So I spent the night consoling myself with ice cream, cuddly pups, and a cuddly husband, which helped a lot. My neck is sore from some major whiplash but it could've been alot worse. Lesson learned, life can change in a split second. So if you guys see a car on the freeway with about 25 car lengths between it and the car in front of it, that is probably me or Tom:)

Conference weekend

Man I love conference weekend! It is crazy to me that we get to sit in the comfort of our own living rooms in our pajamas and hear the prophets and apostles relay to us the word of God twice a year! Its one of those things we take for granted but is really one the most amazing things about these latter days! I loved the messages but will have to reread them all to really take them in. I also love that our apostles don't sugar coat things to make sure not to offend someone, I love that they just say whats right and thats that! My little brother on his mission said it best in his e-mail this week "I really enjoyed Pres. Monson's and Pres. Uchtdorf's talk and it really clicked with me that everyone, at some point or another needs to hear the Gospel plainly, and clearly, with no "fluff". They could have sugar-coated their messages and avoided offending certain people, but would have done the church a disservice. We need to hear things straight every once in a while. Nephi "delighted in plainness.""

We started off the weekend on Friday night we took our dogs and headed down to Delta to my mom and dad's house and had amazing green chile chicken casserole that I requested cuz I haven't had it since I was a kid...so good! We watched the Jazz game...too bad they lost...
Then saturday I took the dogs and my dad took Carmel (my dog I got when I was in 4th, yes 4th grade! He just keeps on a truckin!) on a walk. I think Marley and Jovi could really get used to having a HUGE field to run around in and chase birds all day! Then we watched conference and ran some errands. At four we went up to Kevin's house for a Styler family party! It was uncle Daves birthday so we got to see their fam, Aunt Ermakayes fam (minus Jen and Emily's fam), RUss and Aubrie's fam, and Melissa and Zanes fam. So fun to see them all and hear stories about Tom's grandma and grandpa and watch the kiddos/cousins all play together. Awesome. After everyone left we chatted all night with Kevin and Kimi and Sadie and had quite the deep discussions!!
Sunday morning we again watched conference with my amazing parents who are always great to hang out with, ate amazing lunch and then went to Michelles house for the rest of the day. It was such an awesome weekend and we got to spend some good quality family time.. We are truly so blessed with such a great, supportive family. I wish every weekend was conference weekend. If you are still reading this, I apologize I got zero pictures the whole weekend...
