BYU Graduation, and some exciting changes

Last Friday morning was Conlan's BYU Graduation!  It was a really nice commencement and it was specifically for just the Music and Fine Arts programs.
I am just so proud of my little brother and all that he has accomplished!  His resume' is loaded!  He earned his Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from BYU and will now be going on for his Master's at YALE University this fall!  I'm excited for him and his decision to go to Yale...it was quite a tough decision considering he was also accepted into Julliard, Manhatton School of Music, and Michigan.  It's so weird that he will be so far away in Connecticut though.
I can't wait to see what else he does!  Congrats Brotha!

Afterwards we went to lunch at Goodwood BBQ to celebrate!  It was a fun day with the Miller clan.

Later that day -Tom, Brent, Cole, and Scott headed out for their campout to Little Moab.  They have been planning this guys trip for months and were all giddy to head out!  Tom said they had a great time and got some good 4-wheeler rides in, despite the rain that ended up cutting their weekend short.   They only ended up staying one night so it ended up only being those 4...Jeff and Zach were going to go out on Saturday, but the weather had other plans.  It was nice that where they went had somewhat of cell phone service so it was fun to get calls from Tom with updates on what they were up to.
And this was the only picture Tom sent :) men:)

Since the boys were off having fun, I invited the girl's over!  I just love our friends!  We really are so lucky to live so close to them!
They were thrilled with me taking this pic too haha...too bad this was after Claudia left though.

We (well, Brittany) did our nails!!  Thanks Britt!  She is so good at them and loves doing them...win, win!  And Swayzie and Jade watched Frozen and had fun playing together.  Marley and Jovi waited expectantly, knowing these little gals were bound to drop some popcorn

So now I'm going to brag about my husband!!!  Ever since he started with Goodman Manufacturing 3 years ago...his goal has been to become the manager of the Branch.  He has worked so hard and been a great employee and finally, after an intense interview process, and many little things falling into place... he has been promoted to Branch Manager!!  I'm so excited and soooo proud of him!  This really could not have come at a better time and is such a blessing to us and we are so grateful that this has worked out for us.  Goodman is a great company and this is going to be a great career for him and for our family.

Some other changes with us:
It's so amazing to see how things work out and how Heavenly Father takes care of us.....

I recently quit educating at the Aveda Institute:(  It was definitely a bittersweet decision but we knew with our new baby on the way, my teaching days were coming to an end.   Since I was only working there once a week, we were originally planning on me working there until the end of June, but, we felt that it was time to call it quits end of March.  And it has been so nice to not have to worry or stress about a babysitter for Jade or feel like we are burdening someone else:)  Financially it was scary to quit because this has been a source of income we have relied on for the last 6 years, and with another member of our family on the way to pay for, I was really nervous.  We knew everything would be ok and thankfully about a month later our prayers were answered and Tom got promoted!
This is a picture of my last group of students on my last day!  I truly loved teaching, and the memories, friendships, learning, and traveling experiences with Aveda have been amazing!  I am still a substitute, so the Institute hasn't seen the last of me!  And I will continue to work at the salon on Saturdays while Tom is home with the girl(s)!

Also, I was released as Primary secretary and called to be the Primary 2nd counselor with a new presidency!  Primary for life = me:)  But that is ok with me!  I love it!  My first sharing time was on Sunday and it went really well.
Tom is still teaching the adult Sunday school twice a month!  I just commend him for being so good at doing that because my little 15 minute sharing time for the kids was enough stress for me vs. his 1 hour class teaching adults about the Old Testament!  Yikes!

I am now 23 weeks along with little miss! (This pic was last week though)  And overall I'm doing really good!  Definitely starting to feel very pregnant.... I'll keep the woes of my pregnancy to myself haha

Some funny things Jade has done/said lately: (With no rhyme or reason to the order)
-The other day when I was helping her get dressed, she accidentally poked me in the eye.  I didn't really react but she said, "I'm sorry about that Mom!  I didn't mean to poke you in the eye!"  Her full sentences crack me up.
-Some of her favorite go to lines lately are: (said very dramatically) "Not yet" or "I'm sorry about this, I can't today!" when you ask or are telling her something she needs to be doing like to take a bath or eat dinner
-She has finally given 'Frozen' a much needed break and has been obsessed with Dr. Seuss' The Lorax.  And her commentary throughout the movie is hysterical.
-When one of us is leaving she says some combination of "Bye, love you, be safe, see ya soon!"
-The other day when we got back from the store and she wanted my attention while I was putting stuff away...I said, "In a minute, I'm putting the food away"  and she replied, "Oh mom, you're putting away the GROCERIES!"  Totally correcting me:)
-She is still quit the grump for like a good 3o minutes after her nap and insists on nothing but being cuddled or she'll be in a full cry.
-Her potty training is going awesome!  (I thought the day I would say that would never come)  She is no longer scared to poop in the potty (THANK GOODNESS!)  And hasn't had any accidents in weeks!  YAY we are so proud of her!  She still sleeps in a pull-up but the last few nights she cries when she has to go in the middle of the night so we take her and she has been almost dry in the mornings!
- The other morning she bumped her ear pretty good into the dining chair.  I just watched from a distance as she sulkily made her way (holding her ear) to the stairs...she sat down and rested her chin in her hands and let out a few good sighs and then jumped up and exclaimed, "That's it!!! I'm not sad anymore!"
-We will quiz her on things (letters, numbers, colors) and whenever we are asking her about colors of things we ask her what color is Dad's hair and she never skips a beat and says, "Nope!  It's not hair!" haha
-The majority of our next door neighbor's family doesn't speak English and when we are outside playing, their kids will look over at us and try to talk to us in Spanish and I usually just say Hi and smile but this one kid kept trying to talk to us and I finally said, "I'm sorry, I don't know what that means."  So now, whenever Jade sees them she will start yelling to them, "I don't know what that means!"  Oh geez!  This girl remembers everything - I've got to be careful what I say haha

The rough life of a 2 year old
"It's like a little crib!" (Insert her fake snoring)

Lately, she has been more of a cuddly momma's girl than ever!  Which I love, but it is also hard to get anything done and carrying around 28 lbs of Jade all day while pregnant has been hard!  And the last couple weeks have been the worst... She was just so cranky, no appetite, and had a fever, runny nose, and a little cough.  Then the next day, she had yellow discharge from both eyes so I took her to the doctor...and the poor thing had pink eye and a double ear infection on top of her cold!  Thanks to modern meds, her pink eye and ear infections were gone in 24 hours.  Between her being sick and Tom being sick, we have yet to go see Kimberlie's and Jonathon's new baby girl Elizabeth!  We are hoping to go later this week!

But I really love the perks of cuddle time.  On Sunday we all took naps and when Jade woke up, Tom brought her in with us and she fell back asleep cuddling with me.  It was so sweet!  So of course, I took some selfies:)
Wow I wrote a lot!  So ya, that's what's been going on with us!

Easter

Easter 2014---But first... some older pics I found on my phone that I wanted to throw on the blog real quick...

I love getting pics like these sent to me while I'm at work!

Tom snapped these pictures of Jade helping me weed haha.  She loves to feel like she is "workin" with us

And since she's had her haircut, it's been much better...but this was her typical after nap bed head!

Ok, onto Easter weekend!  We had a great weekend with our families!  We got to Oak City Friday night and had a steak bbq at Kevin's cabin.  Thank you so much Kevin and Trevor for the amazing cooking!  The weather was nice and the kids had a blast:)

Koleman and Jade will be starting a band soon..

We all spent that night at Kevin's and Jade LOVED the baby chicks that grandpa had.  And of course Kevin told Jade to ask us if we could take one home hahaha!  Needless to say, Jade was a little disappointed:)
Saturday morning was the annual Styler Easter Egg hunt at Aunt Erma Kaye and Uncle John's house.    It was so much fun!  They go all out and there were candy and eggs EVERYWHERE on the property!  Jade definitely didn't need our help this year...she was all over it!

I can't handle the cuteness level of this picture!
Ready to go!

Thank you so much Styler clan for the amazing shin dig and delicious lunch!
That after noon we went down to my parents and enjoyed the gorgeous weather and did some relaxing while Jade napped.

Later that night Gammy and Gampy had another Easter Egg hunt for the girls and they loved it!  Thanks mom and dad, you guys are the best!

Alyssa decided she could just hold them all and bring them to her basket haha

After dinner, the girl's got ice cream and zoned out to 'Frozen'

After baths Gammy was soooo sweet and got all her grandkid's little Easter presents!  Thank you for always being so thoughtful and awesome mom!

 Jade loves her gifts!!!
 Easter morning!

We went to church with my parent's to the single's ward again and Jade entertained the crowd again haha!  She really is pretty good but just likes to talk and talk and it's really hard to keep a straight face at some of the hilarious stuff she says.
After church we ate a delicious Easter dinner (THANKS mom:))  We missed you Sharice and Gregg!

Doesn't she look so cute in her outfit from Gammy/Gampy?!

It was an awesome weekend that was too short...and with all the hoopla of the holiday, it's easy to forget why we celebrate Easter.  We are so grateful to celebrate Easter and remember our Savior and the ultimate sacrifice he made for all of us.  He is the reason for everything.  He is our way to happiness.  I'm so humbled that he took upon himself all of our sins and shortcomings so that we can be forgiven of them all and become perfected and return to live with him again!  He is risen!
