February

I can't believe we are into March!

An update from February...

So you know what's fun?  Going grocery shopping and loading all the groceries in the back of the truck and then running into Costco after for a few things and come out to find it is POURING rain!!  Oh man, it was so bad.  Huge rain drops pounding down like flash flood status.  So I abandoned the cart by the doors and run with Lainey to the truck, and then drive up to the front to load my groceries (this time in the passenger seat)  I was seriously soaked.  Then I get home and had to bring in the sopping wet bags of groceries from the back of the truck (the grocery bags literally had a good inch of water in each one)... all while Lainey is crying....and then towel dry each individual item!!  So fun! GRRR!  All I could do was laugh maniacally and tell Tom I'm over having a truck...

Anywho... Tom had his first Scout campout on the 20th and so we had a girls night!  We went to Carl's Jr.  and then Saturday morning went up to the Provo Rec. Center to play

Here are some pictures of the camp out that I stole from the ward Facebook page.   He had a great time!  The boys dug and slept in snow caves and they snuck into a lodge that was open and played ping pong and went sledding in the morning!

Tom set up his tent and slept in this tunnel.

Tom and Marley having a moment...

On that Sunday after church we went to the park

On Monday the 22nd we went up to Primary Children's to get Jade's MRI done.  Thank you to my parents for watching Lainey for us!  That helped more than you know!.  It was quite a traumatic experience.   They placed her IV in her hand soon after we got there, but then, they were running behind so we had to try to distract/entertain an upset 3 year old that was just crying for us to take the needle out of her hand for about an hour!

They finally sedated her (which was traumatic for Tom and I)  we were both trying to keep it together!
Then while she was getting it done we went to grab some lunch, and we were just talking about how grateful we are to have healthy children.  We were there for an optional MRI and we couldn't help but wonder why all the other people in the cafeteria were there.
Here she is coming out of the sedation.

So her MRI came back normal.  Which is great!  But also frustrating.  We were hoping they would find a simple problem with a simple solution for her back pain and fevers...but no luck.
And that evening she got a fever!  She fevered clear until Saturday!  It would come back every 6-8 hours after the Tylenol/ Motrin wore off.  On Thursday around 3:00 am she was 103.8 degrees and Friday around 4:00am 104.3!  I talked to the Pediatrician throughout the week and he is now thinking she may have Periodic Fever Syndrome...  based on her frequent and long-lasting fevers.  He wants to see it go one more round and test for infection one more time before diagnosing it.  We would actually be thrilled with this diagnosis because it's easy to treat/manage, she will grow out of it, and have no long term effects... so we will see.
It's so tough to see her miserable when she is such a fun spirited and active little girl!

Trevor, Lashel, Koleman, Kiptyn, and baby Stratton came to visit that weekend!  It was SO MUCH FUN!  It really made for the perfect weekend!  And despite Jade's fever, as long as she was medicated, her fever was reduced and she was playing and having so much fun with her cousins.  We so wish they lived closer!

Kimi and Ella came down Friday to hang for a while too!

And on Saturday Michelle, Larry and Teaghann came down!  So fun!
Cutest Uncle Tom...

Jade and Kiptyn formed the cutest bond over the weekend that just melted our hearts!  They would just sneak off together to play and we would just hear them laughing and laughing!

Lashel is a LuLaRoe consultant, and while she was up here she did some parties!.. Including mine!  I hosted a pop-up boutique on Thursday night at our house and was happy that people actually showed up haha and impressed that Lashel could bring up all that inventory.  LuLaRoe is seriously the comfiest clothes I've ever worn!  I might be a new addict!  This is one of the dresses I earned for hosting!!....and it feels like I'm wearing a T-shirt!
It was so sad to see them leave.  We had a lot of fun

Lainey is officially in Nursery!  Holy cow that came fast.  But I won't lie, it's so nice!  Tom and I can actually focus on our callings with no other worries!  Of course I had to spy on her a few times and each time she was being held haha.  But the leaders say she is doing great!

After church we went to the park again!  I think this may become a regular Sunday thing all Spring!
It was sooo nice and I love being out as a family.

On Monday Lainey had her 18 month appointment and she is healthy as a horse!  She is 24.13 lbs (60%) and 32.5" (75%).  It's freaking me out how big and grown up she is seeming lately!  She is a complete toddler/kid....no longer a baby at all!
We also finally are completely done with bottles!!  She was done with daytime bottles and started using a sippy around 12 months but was holding onto the bottle before bed until about 2 weeks ago!  Horray! She is so funny and always making us laugh!  She is stubborn, feisty, smart, sweet, full of personality (and destruction), and cute as they come!  We love you Lainey Quinn!
She is talking so much and we love it!  The other day she held out a Barbie doll to me and said, "Tiss, tiss!" (kiss, kiss) and when I did it she said, "Guh gir!" (Good girl!)
An example of her pointless destruction.... this was about 10 minutes after she grabbed my sunglasses out of my purse and swiftly and purposely snapped them in half before I could stop her!!

Look at these Rough Riders!  We went on a walk on the trail to the park with Jenni, Brittany, and Stephanie!  It was so fun and we are so grateful to have good friends in our lives and so close by!

Sister sister!!

Lainey quickly learned how to jump and land on her bum and it's the cutest.  This is mid synchronized  bum-jump

How am I supposed to say no to that?!

Zoning out from a back scratch from Dad.

Today at church Jade bore her testimony again and it was so cute!

"Um um um... I'm Jadelyn Kay Styler and I love the whole world and Jesus loves us too!  I love everyone, everyone that I love.  I love my family.  In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen."

Talk about making our hearts swell!

She also gave her first talk in Primary last week and did awesome!   She's definitely not afraid of the microphone
