Christmas

Christmas Eve was awesome!  Tom only had to work a half day and picked up some lunch for us on the way home.  It was a nice day so I took the dogs to the park for a run by myself which was so nice!
Tom's CSR at his store (Blake) got us and the girls a gift that we let them open.  Jade got this cool flying fairy (that was unfortunately short-lived due to broken wings...) we got a game and lainey a tent.  The gifts were so sweet and unexpected of him.
Also a side note of Jade's hair...I've been asking her how she wants her hair lately and this day she pointed with her finger down the middle of her head "1,2,3,4 buns"  and I (trying to cop out) said "ok a couple buns?"  And she looked at me like I was stupid and pointed at her head (more slowly this time) "1,2,3,4.... 4 buns mom"  (while holding up 4 fingers to make sure I understood haha.)  And then of course, a few hours later she wants the buns out and "curly"

We started our Christmas Eve party out with a candy cane hunt.  It was actually a big hit that I'm sure we'll do every year!  Jade loved it.  And then she took turns hiding them for us to find but couldn't help herself from telling us where they were.

Then the girls got to open their Pajamas!
In their new jammies!  I know these pics are really similar but I couldn't decide!
Then we played some Christmas Bingo!
And set out cookies and milk for Santa
And Tom told the Nativity story
 And Santa came!!
Christmas morning was so fun.  We loved being home for the first time for Christmas morning!  I got up a little early to put our cinnamon roll french toast in the oven.  Lainey woke up around 8 and we finally woke Jade up because of our pure excitement around 8:30
The girls with their presents from Santa!  Jade was thrilled that he brought a doll just like she asked!

Lainey got a little doll too and loves it!

Here's Jade and her loot minus her bicycle bell and bead set

I'm so glad she loves the blanket I made for her!

And here is Lainey with her Christmas blanket I made and her gifts minus the Baby Einstein movie.
Making some jewelry with her bead kit

The rest of the morning we just relaxed and played with the new toys.

After Lainey's nap we went sledding at our neighborhood park.  We had so much fun and they were just the right size of hills for the girls but next time we're going bigger!

So I definitely need to improve my presentation skills but I loved making my own official Christmas dinner
And to finish off our Christmas day, we went to see the Festival of Lights!  They LOVED it!  And doing it on Christmas, there was almost no line!

The next morning we headed down to Oak City to celebrate with the Stylers!  All of us kids arrived around the same time and it was crazy to realize how much our family has grown!  It was so fun to see everyone!

All these next pictures are from Michelle's camera!
Thank you so much Michelle and Larry for the Christmas presents!  They were perfect!  We love you

Cutest brothers!  We're so sad that John didn't make it

The original Stylers....
 Insert John under Tom's arm...
The In-laws... or outlaws as Lashel says :)  All of our spouses were laughing at us as we were taking this awkward picture at their request!
Now their turn for an awkward picture!  Just look at Tom and Trevor and try not to laugh
Our best efforts at a family picture

After lunch we went over to Kevin's house and were spoiled some more!
Lainey's new slide was a hit!

Kevin was sweet enough to take them all out in the freezing cold to see the chickens.  And apparently they all wanted in the coop!

Then that night we spent the night down at my parents house.  It was so fun to hang out with them and Conlan!

Sunday morning we headed out and stopped at Michelle's again on our way home.  Larry was so sweet with Jade and she adores him.  He took her all over the yard to look at birds nests.
I love this picture of these ladies!

These girls loved playing at Grandma's!

 Melt my heart....
We had a wonderful Christmas weekend together and with all of our parents/ grandparents.  We are so blessed to have you in our lives and so close to us.

We just love our little girls so much.  It was seriously an awesome Christmas season!  I'm so grateful for Christmas time to remember our Savior's birth.  He is our EVERYTHING.  And because of Him, our family can be together forever.  He is our greatest gift.   It's so easy to get caught up in the commercialized side of Christmas but so special when you make the time to remember Jesus Christ and all that he has blessed us with.  Teaching sharing time in Primary this month has been awesome.   Every week they bring tears to my eyes with their singing and their sweet answers.   Children are SO SMART!  I know the strongest children have been saved for these difficult days.  I'm so thankful for our Savior and the knowledge that if we stay close to Him and keep an eternal perspective that everything will all work out.
