I can't believe my little baby is 1! This year has truly been the fastest of my life! And I hear it only gets faster with every kid/ year! :(
We had a fun birthday BBQ at our house on Saturday with lots of loved ones! She is so loved and got very spoiled! Thank you to all that traveled and came to make it such a fun night. It meant a lot to all of us!

She, of course, wasn't too interested in the opening of gifts! But she sure has loved her presents and got great stuff!
Cake time! We knew Lainey wouldn't disappoint in the smash cake! She loved it and loved all the attention on her while she made a mess!
On her actual birthday on Tuesday, we saved one present to open. And had a relaxing night at home.
That night I let Jade take Lainey down the slide. And at first you can tell Lainey is like, "you're going to let her do what with me??" but believe me, she ended up loving it....probably not as much as Jade though.
What can I say about this sweet and smiley 1 year old?.....
she is so sweet, usually happy, and is such a BUSY girl!
She is always on the move and has been a go-getter from the beginning.
She walks like a champ and I feel very confident in her walking.
She loves food and always wants what we are eating.
She still only has the 2 teeth she got around 7 months.
She is very smart and loves figuring out how things work...whenever she sees a comb, she tries to comb her hair with it / she makes up her own games like repeatedly putting a cube toy in a cup and shaking it out/ When we ask where 'stars, dogs, mom, dad, jade, binkies, or milk' are, she will point to them.
Whenever I take down the gate from the bottom of the stairs, she charges towards it and says "go, go, go!" the whole crawl up.
She loves to wear necklaces and be called, "pretty" and will proudly march around showing off.
When she sees something or someone she likes, she will forcefully nuzzle her head into it /them and cuddle.
She loves soft things to hug and cuddle with

She loves to make us laugh and is quite the character. She also loves to laugh and will laugh on command by just hearing us laugh.
She is my little shadow all day and famous for whining to be picked up and will like that for about 3 seconds, and then wiggles to get down. I do that ALL day:)
Is not wanting to transition to cows milk or a sippy cup.... she is perfectly capable of drinking out of a sippy cup because she sneaks Jade's drinks all the time but is not into it for milk. A few days before her birthday we ran out of formula and I tried to switch her to milk but that was NOT happening! So I had to buy another tub... but this time we will slowly transition and she better learn to like it haha
She will pucker up and hummm like we do when we go in for a kiss from her and she thinks its pretty hilarious!
She is just such a special girl whom we love with all our hearts! It's so crazy how your love can just grow. We couldn't comprehend that we could ever love another baby like we did Jade. It's also so strange to look back at pictures of before Lainey was born, it's like we can't believe life really existed without her! Life is so crazy.
We are blessed beyond words and we love you Lainey girl!

Other things:
I got a cow costume for Lainey for Halloween and of course Jade INSISTED on wearing it. And it was pretty cute that she wanted to be a mommy cow and take her baby cow for a walk.
We had Jade's preschool orientation and we got to see her classroom and meet her teacher Miss Janet! She is so excited and can't wait to start next week. And she's super excited about the little toilet in her room that's "Just my size!!!" haha

We went and hiked The Grotto trail for family night and had so much fun! Jade LOVED it and hike the whole way, but is a little too independent sometimes for our comfort, but we're working on it!

A couple funny things Jade has said recently:
*We were watching a movie and a boy ran across a busy street and Jade yelled, "Don't ever do that ya stupid kid!" haha smart girl
*She was in the tub playing with 2 horses and a fox. She was going down the line lifting them up one by one having them "talk"...and horse 1: "Nay!" horse 2: "Nay!" Fox: "Ding, ding, ding!" I about died laughing! I was wondering what she would say for the fox. And apparently she legitimately thinks foxes say "ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!" (From the stupid "What does the fox say?" song from Youtube)
