Oak City

We had plans this weekend to go camping but the weather didn't cooperate so we were able to go down to Oak City Friday night to celebrate Trevor and Kimi's birthdays!  We were spoiled to see Trevor and Lashel again so soon!
We spent the evening out in Kevin's yard enjoying the perfect weather and the rest of the night eating and enjoying some late night deep chats!

This was pretty funny...so I'm posting all the pictures so you can get the play-by-play!
Jade's first cat encounter....poor kitty...luckily it is the sweetest, most patient cat...

"What is that??"
"ooohhh, it's a cat!"
"Nice Kitty.."
"Where you going!?"
"Don't worry, I gotcha.  I'll put you back up on here"

Oh Jade...typical:)  Silly girl

I think Jade could live outdoors.  She was in heaven and loved the chickens!

The next morning we took the kids to play at the Oak City park!  They had a blast!  It's always weird to know the my daughter is playing on the exact same play ground I did as a kid.

Once Darren and Dani got there, we tried to get a pic of Kevin with his grandkids...haha this is what most of the attempts looked like....
but Darren got the best one!

Later that afternoon we went up the canyon and hung out at a cabin that Kevin is probably going to buy!  It is a really cool place!!

Too bad the fun was short lived - thanks to mine and Tom's wussiness:)  The road to the cabin had been washed out by some flooding and Tom and I got there last and didn't want our precious shoes and pants to get muddy haha- and to have to carry Jade over some sketchy rocks so we asked someone to drive down to get us...and poor Kevin drove down and hit a cement ledge in the water and blew out the sidewall of his truck tire!!  We felt soooo bad.  So Tom and the boys spent the majority of the time getting the right tools and fixing it.

So us ladies tried to entertain the kids while we waited!
Jade climbed right in this cute box and sat there cheesing at me (practically begging me to take her picture..so of course, I obliged)

Then, of course we had to put Kiptyn in after!

It was such a fun and relaxing day with the fam!  So glad we could make it!

Jade is just as cute and fun as ever!
Our new favorite things she does is says "Thank you dada (or mama)" when you give her something she asks for.
And she sings!!! Or at least tries to, and it's heart-melting!  She can sing Twinkle, Twinkle little star, most of the ABC's, the balloon song, and she tries to sing along with any song playing.  She holds out the long notes of the songs and it's hilarious

Labor Day weekend

We had such a fun and busy Labor day weekend!  It was so great to see so many of our family!!
Of course we had plans to go to Swiss Days, so Trevor and Lashel came up to stay with us for the weekend.  We love when we get to spend time with them and we have missed them since they have been gone to Texas all summer!!  So when they got here on Friday we went swimming at the Payson pool!

Of course we had to take the obligatory and always adorable - naked cousin bath pic!

Koleman and Jade took turns yelling at the top of their lungs and laughing.  Those mischeivous grins...:)

Then after we put the kids to bed we stayed up way too late and I forced everyone to eat the- not 1, not 2, but 3 kinds of popcorn I made (which I must say were amazing!!!)

Then Saturday morning we headed up for Swiss Days!!  It was a blast as always!  And it's so nice to have a little get-a-way to the beautiful Midway and hang out with family and do some shopping!

I don't know if the kids or the adults had more fun playing at Grandpa & Grandma Probst's house??

And while Jade and Kiptyn napped, Lashel and I hit the booths while the boys stayed home with the kids!  Shopping with Lashel is my fave:)  This pic was taken when we realized our Swiss Days shopping has now basically become buying random toys for the kids
We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and eating Grandpa's homemade salsa, swiss bread, and smoked turkey

Then we came back home and spent one more night playing with Trev, Lashel, Koleman, and Kiptyn.  We LOVE when they come and always tell them to move up here... and to even move in with us haha

Sunday morning we drove down to Oak City for Teaghann's baby blessing!
And you can see Jade was cracking us up as always on the way down!

Hanging out at Kevin's before church!
Kevin gave her the most beautiful, spiritual blessing!  It was awesome:)

After sacrament meeting Tom's family put on a luncheon at the Hall!  It was delicious, thanks for all the hardwork!

Then we went to Michelle's for a little while and Kevin's

That evening we went to my parent's to spend the night!  Jade was definitely in her element, getting to play in some giant, beautiful backyards this weekend!

She also decided to go for a dip in the little pool that my parents are sweet enough to put out for the dogs....with her clothes on...:)

Thanks for the fun night and food mom and dad!  Jade sure loves you guys!  And uncle "Connin" of course:)

It was a jam packed weekend but so much fun!  We are truly blessed with the best families!!  We came home on Monday morning and my awesome husband put up some big shelves in the garage that we have been wanting for a while and I went shopping for some flooring ideas for our little remodel we are doing soon!!

This week has been great and busy too...I don't know what is going on, but it seems like life just keeps moving faster!  On Thursday, the Fowlers invited us, the Bunkers, and the Jone's over for a bbq and the food was sooo good!   Like I've said before...we are so lucky to have such great friends that live right in our neighborhood!  And it's so great that all the kids love playing together!

On Friday evening we got some tragic news...my Uncle Lynn had passed away.  It is so heartbreaking and devastating to the family.  He was always so funny and the life of the party.  I'm so glad we got to see him at the family reunion in July.  My heart hurts for my Aunt Marty, Britney, Domini, Taylor and their families.  Thankful for the gospel and eternal families and praying for comfort and healing to their family.  Thankful my dad happened to be down there in AZ to work on some stuff at my Grandpa's house, to be there for his sister and his dad.  Sooo sad. A horrible reminder that life is so fragile and to never take anything or anyone for granted.  Always let your loved ones know that you love them often- because you just never know.

On Saturday Tom and I had a real, legit, date and it was fantastic!  I had a few hair appointments in the morning and Tom was going to help Tasha and Roger move so my mom watched Jade and Alyssa at our house for us all day (Thank you so much Mom!).  So Tom and I met up when we were done at Chili's for lunch and then went and did a temple session!  It was so nice and just what we needed.  (Minus the hour delay at the temple and the Provo hurricane of 2013 and the BYU football game traffic haha)  but still pretty much perfect!
So grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ in our lives.  Living it is the only way to be truly happy and I know I have plenty of things I need to work on!.  He wants us to succeed, He wants us to be happy, and He is there for us!  I know that even in the darkest of days, we can find comfort.  I'm so thankful for our Heavenly Father and His love for all of us.
